How PADI and SDI differ and how to choose is explained in PADI or SDI: what is the difference?

Where to start

  1. Intro dive – try diving in the pool with an instructor. No experience needed.
  2. Open Water Diver (OWD) – the first course and an international certificate: you can dive to 18 m anywhere in the world.
  3. Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) – more experience and diving to 30 m. Then the specialty courses that interest you.

You can also give diving as a present: the gift voucher arrives by e-mail right after payment.

Frequently asked questions

From what age can you learn to dive?

The Open Water Diver (OWD) course is for children from 10–12 years and for adults. The Advanced (AOWD) course can be started from 12.

Do I need to be able to swim?

Yes: you need to swim and feel comfortable in the water. No diving experience is needed, and before the course you will need a medical certificate that no health problems stop you from diving.

How long does the first course take?

The Open Water Diver (OWD) course usually takes 3–4 days: theory, pool sessions and four open water dives.

Do I need my own diving equipment?

No. During the first course we provide all the equipment you need.

Is the certificate valid abroad?

Yes. Dive centres all over the world accept PADI and SDI certificates: with an Open Water Diver certificate you can rent equipment and dive to 18 m.
