Description
The R2 TEC1 regulator with an octopus and console performs well both in laboratory tests and in real diving conditions. The R2 TEC first stage is a balanced diaphragm design with a dry chamber that seals the working diaphragm and prevents freezing in cold water; this protection is also an advantage in heavily silted water. It is made of marine brass with a high-quality frosted chrome finish. The rotating turret allows flexible hose routing, for example down each side of a wing, and the design is also popular on stage tanks for technical diving. A fifth axial LP port can be fitted as an optional extra.
The TEC1 second stage is a downstream demand valve with venturi and breathing resistance adjustment. A heat exchanger reduces the risk of icing in cold water, and a breathing resistance of about 1 J/l makes breathing easier and helps reduce air consumption. TecLine regulators are CE certified and tested to EN 250, and are also trialled in demanding conditions from icy Polish lakes to caves and tropical waters. After assembly and tuning, every regulator is checked by two independent technicians. Suitable for nitrox up to EAN40 (40% O2).
