The TecLine SIDE 16 Avenger Camo is a fully ready-to-use sidemount BCD, developed with leading cave divers for diving in sidemount configuration. Sidemount has been tested for a long time around the world and proven in cave exploration. According to TecLine, it is the easiest harness on the market to configure and adjust: the shoulder straps and the waist belt can be adjusted separately.
The reinforced upper part of the wing protects it in tight restrictions in caves and wrecks. The low profile of the bladder reduces drag and the risk of getting stuck. The wing stays close to the body for minimum drag while giving high lift, which suits technical diving with several cylinders. The sidemount system is fully flexible and gives great freedom of movement, and the body-profiled wing makes passing through restrictions easier.
Four integrated weight pockets (10 kg in total) place the load ideally on the diver's back; they sit slightly outwards and low for better trim and streamlining. Two sets of additional weight pockets are available in two sizes (2 kg and 4.5 kg). Weight pockets on the waist belt help drysuit divers by moving extra weight towards the lower body. A dump valve sits in a protected spot at the lower back of the bladder, so air is easy to release when horizontal or upside down.
The BCD is made of dense Cordura 2000 and mounted on standard 5 cm webbing. It has three dump valves. The inflator hose can be fitted on the left or the right. A distinctive feature of this model is that you can use the valve at the top of the BCD or fit a plug instead. The neoprene and Cordura shoulder pads spread the load evenly, ease discomfort and protect your suit from wear on the shoulders and chest. Additional chest straps with a Fastex buckle stop the shoulder straps moving during the dive. A detachable beaver tail lets you attach heavier steel cylinders and accessories. The harness has all the D-rings, triglides and straps needed; all fittings are stainless steel and do not corrode even with long use in seawater. The adjustable crotch strap is made of tear-resistant yet soft nylon that will not damage your suit.
