The TecLine Peanut 21 Professional is an asymmetric wing (according to the maker, the first and only one in the world), now also with a Kevlar shell for professionals such as instructors.
The shape of the wing helps you hold a comfortable, safe head-up position and good horizontal trim in the water. Good trim gives precise buoyancy control and orientation, and open airways make breathing efficient. The reduced top of the wing leaves free space behind the head and lets you route hoses neatly. A triangular extension at the top guides the air straight into the inflator's corrugated hose, so the wing is easy to deflate in any position. The lower dump valve sits on the edge of the bladder, where it is easier to find and use in the right position. The Peanut holds the diver high and stable at the surface. Its large lift in a small size comes from the 3D construction: the wing is wider in the middle and lower parts, making effective use of the space between the tank and the backplate.
