Description
The TecLine Donut 22 Special Edition, the first wing for a 2 × 12 l twinset, was designed around the expectations of divers and instructors and thousands of hours spent underwater in different equipment configurations. The wing has the shape of an uneven ring, so air spreads efficiently in every direction and you can hold your chosen position underwater. A wider wing and a special panel sewn into its outline keep the diver well positioned even with additional tanks. The panel also adds volume without enlarging the outline: a small wing with large lift. A wide band in the lower part of the wing puts this extra volume to use and holds the diver high at the surface. Air is easy to release, so you can keep a stable position underwater.
The rear dump valve sits in an intuitive place and is easy to find by hand. The inflator is placed centrally, so its port sits exactly between the tanks and you can release air through the inflator without leaning far back. The wing also comes with an additional, shorter inflator hose, so you can choose the length you prefer. The wing is very narrow at the top, leaving almost unlimited options for hose and regulator configuration and easy access to the valves. The position of the wing relative to the tanks and backplate can be set by choosing one of two rows of holes for the screws that mount the wing on the tanks. The prototype was thoroughly tested before series production; the tests showed that the materials are very durable and the wing is very comfortable to use.
